Meet the team

At different stages during your time with Healthy Minds you may come across various members of our team, each with their own roles in helping you along the way.

Administration Team
Our administrators are the main point of contact at our service before you are assigned a therapist. They receive and process your referral details and will contact you to arrange your initial assessment with one of our Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners or High Intensity Therapists.

Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP)
Our PWPs are trained practitioners who may carry out your initial assessment and who you may subsequently work with during your treatment. PWPs can support you with depression and some types of anxiety. They aim to help you make sense of your difficulties before working with you to learn techniques based on low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) so you can start to make positive changes to your life.

High Intensity Therapists (HITs)
HITs are qualified CBT therapists who can support you with depression and certain types of anxiety, such as social anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).

Counsellors
Healthy Minds works in partnership with Mind in West Essex to offer a limited number of funded sessions to support people with moderate depression who may benefit more from counselling than CBT.

Support Time and Recover (STaR) Workers
Healthy Minds works in partnership with West Essex Mind to offer the Support, Time and Recovery Service. During your assessment it may also be agreed that, as well as receiving clinical support, you could benefit from working with a STaR worker.

STaR workers can support you with any practical difficulties that are contributing towards your emotional problems, including issues regarding employment, finances, and housing. STaR workers may also help you to access social and leisure activities and can signpost you to programs relating to improving your physical health.
